How We Design Your Safari

Every safari begins by understanding the traveller. We design routes based on how you travel, accounting for specific needs and comfort levels to ensure an authentic journey.

  • Travel experience level
  • Driving confidence
  • Wildlife priorities
  • Regions of interest
  • Budget expectations
  • Pacing and comfort
  • Seasonality

Each safari is tailored to the individual, using our proven frameworks to ensure a perfectly balanced, field-tested experience.

Our Planning Process

Step 1

Discovery Conversation

We start with a conversation to understand how you travel, what excites you, and what kind of safari experience you want. This gives us a clear picture of what will actually work for you.

Step 2

Route Framework

Using proven safari routes, we design a practical framework for your journey. We consider distances, wildlife regions, seasonal conditions, and how to pace the trip so it flows naturally.

Step 3

Tailored Adjustments

Once the route structure is in place, we refine the details — accommodation options, driving days, rest stops, and regional focus — shaping the safari around your interests, comfort level, and travel pace.

Step 4

Logistics & Support

When everything feels right, we coordinate the bookings and logistics for your safari. This includes camps, lodges, park access, and practical guidance so you can travel confidently and focus on the experience.

Every safari we design is based on real guiding experience across Kenya and East Africa — not packaged tours.

Who’s Behind Africa Off Track

Dan and Livvy are self-drive safari people at heart. They prefer dusty tracks, campfires and early starts over polished lodge lobbies, and they’ve built Africa Off Track around that way of travelling.

Every destination and route they recommend is one they’ve experienced first-hand – driving the roads, testing the timings and staying in the camps and lodges themselves. They plan from the field, not from behind a desk, so the safaris they design are grounded in how travel actually feels on the ground.
